This script finds and sorts all bounding box info, for root level nodes. Then populates a table with their info, and allows you to manage them. By default nodes are displayed based on the amount they increase the bounding box compared to their input. Artist can use the panel to zoom to the nodes in the node graph, to quickly diagnose and fix issues with their bounding boxes

How It Works

BBox Manager Floating: In the BuddySystem menu located in the toolbar go to Scripts > Utilites > Panels > BBox Manager to launch as a floating panel

BBox Manager Docked: In any pane go to Windows > Custom > BBox Manager to launch as a docked panel in that pane

Mode: Use this knob to switch between modes. Growth mode shows only nodes that increase the BBox size based on a percentage. Format mode shows all nodes that are larger than the format + overscan

Growth Threshold: This knob defines the minimum threshold to check for how much the node increases the bbox. Values lower than it will be ignored

Min Input BBox: This knob defines the minimum BBox to check the growth from. BBox values lower than it will be ignored completely

Root Format: This knob will be populated with your root full sized format. All calculations in this panel are based off this value, plus whatever is in the Overscan knob. If your format changes while the panel is open, use the update button to get the new format

Overscan: This knob stores an overscan value to be considered when checking nodes bounding boxes. If you don’t have overscan in your renders, set it to 0

Show All Nodes: When this checkbox is enabled, the panel will show all nodes. When disabled it only shows nodes with BBoxes that match the mode settings

Ignore Classes: Stores a comma separated list of node classes to ignore in the panel. Use the add button to add the class of the selected nodes to the list

Ignore Names: Stores a comma separated list of node names to ignore in the panel. Use the add button to add the name of the selected nodes to the list

Zoom To Node: Double click on any column to zoom to that node in the node graph, and also open its properties panel
